About us
Kent Counselling for Schools (KCS) provides high-quality, professionally managed counselling services to schools across Kent and the South East. Our work goes beyond placing skilled counsellors in schools, it’s built on clinical excellence, robust systems, strong safeguarding, and genuine partnership with school staff.
Each year we deliver hundreds of hours of therapeutic support to children and young people facing significant challenges, ensuring they receive compassionate, evidence-based care within a safe and trusted environment.
With over 20 years of experience, KCS is committed to best practice, effective communication, and responsive crisis support. We believe schools deserve the very best, and we are proud to play a meaningful role in supporting the wellbeing of their communities.
Our founding director
Debbie Owen began a career in education in 1999. After qualifying as an accredited BACP counsellor/psychotherapist she was commissioned to provide North West Kent’s first professional school counselling service.
She also joined the therapy team for the Bromley Borough Out Reach Service, providing counselling and consultancy for schools across Bromley and South London.
